Experienced Skydiver update

‘A’ Licence skydivers should have received an email from us in regards to refresher sessions being run in advance of our reopening date on 13th April 2021. If you are an ‘A’ licence skydiver and current club member but have not received an email, please contact us at info@skydive.co.uk

If you are unable to attend any of the dates provided we will continue to offer free refresher training throughout April on an ad-hoc basis. These sessions will be run at 09:00am Tuesday to Friday and at 08:00am on weekends.

For B, C & D licence skydivers we will be providing refresher training where applicable from 13th April when we reopen for jumping. Our CI Stuart Meacock will be the initial point of contact for re-currency training when you arrive at the centre. Please ensure all paperwork/documentation is completed beforehand as this will enable us to determine what your requirements are.

There will be no online booking system when we reopen and all experienced skydivers are welcome to become club members for the new skydiving year (1st April 2021 – 31st March 2022). All club members will be required to complete the appropriate paperwork and/or receive refresher training before they can manifest to jump.

Please be mindful of the necessary requirements that need to be fulfilled before your initial jump back at the centre and the times listed above for refresher training. We anticipate a busy start to the season so please allow enough time to complete your paperwork and/or receive refresher training from an instructor.

See the below check-list which is provided to facilitate your return to skydiving:

  • Covid Questionnaire form – to be completed in person at the centre.
  • Club Membership form (1st April 2021 – 31st March 2022) to be completed in person at the centre.
  • British Skydiving Membership (1st April 2021 – 31st March 2022) to be completed in advance or in person at the centre.
  • Refresher training sessions – these will be run in advance of our start date for ‘A’ licence skydivers and ad-hoc from 13th April at the beginning of each day (09:00am Tuesday to Friday and at 08:00am on weekends).
  • Reserve Drills – we encourage all licenced skydivers to go through their reserve drills in advance of attending the centre where practicable and certainly in advance of jumping.

B license Progression – availability of courses will be advised in due course. Currently there are no ‘B’ progression courses planned for April.

CT – We encourage all skydivers to read the information published by British Skydiving on the new ‘Canopy Training’ system which will be implemented from 1st April 2021 and download the app before attending the centre. Our CI Stuart Meacock will be the primary point of contact for licenced skydivers who have any canopy or downsizing queries whilst at the centre.

Packing Courses – if you are interested in attending a packing course as part of your ‘B’ licence or as a refresher then please register your interest by putting your name down on our sign-up sheet located next to the kit store. A member of staff will be in touch to advise of available dates once there is enough interest generated. (Please note that we will not be running any courses in April).

Kit Hire Fees –from 1st April 2021 kit hire will be priced at £15 (including pack job). This covers equipment hired from the kit store (Navigator 240/220 & Silhouette 210’s) and a range of ‘Go Jump’ rigs (including 210’s and 170’s). For more information please enquire at kit store.
